Recruiters at US and global companies hiring remote Product Managers look first for evidence that you have owned a product end to end: setting priorities, working with engineering and design, and shipping features that moved a measurable metric. They scan quickly for a clear title, years of relevant experience, the analytics and planning tools they use daily, and the market or product domain you have worked in. Vague claims about being a strategic thinker carry little weight without a shipped result attached to them.
What changes compared with a local resume in your country is the level of specificity and the framing. US-facing recruiters expect a one-page resume in US English, with numbers in every role, the job's exact tool names, and a clear note on work authorization or hiring arrangement (contractor or employer of record). Local resumes often list responsibilities and omit metrics, or use local job titles that a US recruiter cannot map to a level. Translate your titles into market English, state your remote working hours in your time zone, and make your English proficiency provable.
What your resume must show
- Your current title should be written in market English (for example Product Manager or Senior Product Manager) with your location and time zone stated under your name.
- Each role should show at least one metric you actually owned, such as conversion, retention, revenue, or cycle time, with the baseline and the result.
- The tools named in the job posting (for example Jira, Amplitude, SQL, Figma) should appear by their exact name in the role where you used them.
- Your product domain and the type of customer (B2B, B2C, marketplace, SaaS) should be stated in the summary so recruiters can match you quickly.
- Your English level should be stated with a CEFR rating and proof such as a certificate or a documented remote-working history with international teams.

Common mistakes outside the US
- Listing responsibilities without results; fix it by adding a metric and the change it produced to each bullet.
- Using local job titles that do not map to US levels; fix it by writing the market equivalent (for example Product Owner becomes Product Manager where the scope matches) and keeping the original title in brackets if needed.
- Omitting your time zone and remote availability; fix it by stating your location, UTC offset, and overlap hours with US Eastern or Pacific time.
- Writing the resume in a European format with a photo, date of birth, or marital status; fix it by removing all personal data that US recruiters do not expect and keeping the document to one page.
- Failing to name the tools the posting asks for; fix it by matching the exact tool names from the job description in your skills section and in the relevant role.

Should I use a photo or list my nationality on a US-facing resume?
No. Leave out photos, date of birth, nationality, and marital status, since US recruiters do not expect them and may view them as a reason to screen you out.
How do I handle a time zone difference of six hours or more?
State your UTC offset and the overlap hours with US Eastern or Pacific time on the resume, and mention in your cover note how you run standups and async reviews across the gap.
Do I need a US work authorization to apply?
Many remote roles hire contractors or use an employer of record in your country, so state your preferred arrangement clearly and check each posting for eligibility restrictions before applying.
