Recruiters at US and global companies hiring remote Mobile Engineers (iOS/Android) look for three things in the first 10 seconds: that you have shipped production apps in Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, or both, that you can name the store releases and user numbers behind that work, and that you can work asynchronously across US time zones. They also scan for the exact tool names in the job posting, such as Swift, Kotlin, Xcode, Android Studio, Firebase, REST APIs, CI/CD and App Store Connect or Google Play Console, because automated screening filters match on those terms. Vague phrases like 'worked on mobile apps' get marked as unknown.
What changes compared with a local resume in Europe, Africa, Asia or Latin America: put your English proficiency and remote work setup near the top, write your salary expectation in USD or EUR with an explicit note on contract or EOR availability, and remove local-only details such as photo, marital status or national ID. Use market English job titles (Mid-level, Senior) instead of local titles, express your degree in its English equivalent, and make every bullet state a measurable result (users, release frequency, crash-free rate, load time, team size) so that a reviewer in another country can judge scope without knowing your local company.
What your resume must show
- State your platforms explicitly in the headline and summary, for example 'iOS (Swift, SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose)', so both native platforms are visible to screening tools.
- Show at least one production app shipped to the App Store or Google Play with a measurable scope, such as active users, downloads or store rating.
- Name the exact tools from the job posting in at least one role line each, including the acronym once (for example 'REST APIs' or 'CI/CD').
- Give a clear English proficiency level (CEFR, for example C1) with a verifiable proof such as IELTS, TOEFL or work experience in English.
- State your work availability and setup (independent contractor, EOR through a provider such as Deel, or full-time remote) and your time zone overlap with US hours.

SUMMARY
Mobile engineer with 5 years of experience shipping native iOS and Android apps for B2B SaaS and consumer products. Built and released apps to the App Store and Google Play used by over 400,000 monthly active users, with a focus on REST API integration, offline sync and CI/CD pipelines.
EXPERIENCE
- Maintains the iOS app in Swift and SwiftUI and the Android app in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for 400,000 monthly active users, by owning releases through App Store Connect and Google Play Console every two weeks.
- Reduced cold-start time from 3.4 s to 1.9 s on mid-range Android devices, by profiling with Android Studio and deferring non-critical SDK initialization.
- Integrated REST APIs with offline sync and retry logic, cutting support tickets related to lost data by 38 percent over two quarters.
- Set up CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions and Fastlane for both platforms, reducing manual release time from 4 hours to 45 minutes per build.
- Built driver-facing screens in Kotlin for an Android app used by 2,500 drivers, by writing reusable Jetpack Compose components.
- Added Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to track crash-free sessions, raising the crash-free rate from 97.1 percent to 99.2 percent.

Common mistakes outside the US
- Writing a local-style CV with a photo, date of birth and marital status, which US recruiters treat as irrelevant or a bias risk; remove them and keep the page to one or two pages.
- Listing technologies in a skills block only, without linking them to a project; tie each tool to a role and a result in the bullets.
- Describing duties ('responsible for app development') instead of outcomes; rewrite each bullet as accomplished X, measured by Y, by doing Z.
- Using a local job title or a local degree name that US recruiters cannot map; use market English titles (Mid-level, Senior) and the English equivalent of your degree.
- Leaving out the work setup and salary expectation, so the recruiter has to guess whether you can be hired through a contractor or EOR; state it in the header or the summary.

Should I apply through a US company's EOR provider or as a contractor?
Ask the employer which option they offer. EOR (Deel, Remote, Oyster) is simpler for employers and gives you local benefits, while contractor status usually pays more but leaves tax and insurance to you; state your preference in the summary so the recruiter can filter quickly.
Do I need a US degree or certifications to be considered?
No. Recruiters care more about shipped apps, store releases and measurable results than the country of your degree, so list your degree in English and put your strongest evidence (live apps, GitHub, App Store links) in the first half of the resume.
How do I show English level if I have no certificate?
Describe your English use in a role, such as 'wrote sprint documentation and led daily standups with US and Canadian teams in English', and give a CEFR estimate (for example B2 or C1); a short recorded introduction or a written take-home task can then confirm it.
