  1. Your headline should state the exact role title, Product Designer (UX/UI), and your seniority level in market English (Mid-level or Senior).
  2. Name Figma explicitly in at least one role, along with any prototyping or design-system tools you used, written exactly as the job posting does.
  3. Show at least one measurable result tied to a design decision, such as conversion, task completion, support tickets, or retention.
  4. Describe your research work with scope, for example number of user interviews, usability tests, or personas created, and the product area it served.
  5. State your English level with a CEFR rating and proof, and your availability and work arrangement (independent contractor or EOR) with your time zone.

Errores comunes en Latinoamérica

  1. Listing 'Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva' as the main tools when the job asks for Figma: put Figma first and keep the others only if you really use them.
  2. Writing a title like 'Diseñador Gráfico' or 'Diseñador Web' instead of a market title: use 'Product Designer' or 'UX/UI Designer' so recruiters can find you.
  3. Describing duties ('Responsable de diseñar pantallas') without results: rewrite each bullet as an outcome with a number, such as 'reduced checkout drop-off by 14%'.
  4. Giving no context about the team or product: add the company type (for example, B2B SaaS with 200 employees), the number of users, and how you worked with engineers and PMs.
  5. Leaving out time zone, English level, and work arrangement: a recruiter abroad must know in seconds whether you can overlap with their hours and how they would hire you, so put them in the header.

Preguntas frecuentes

Do I need a US degree to get a remote Product Designer job abroad?

No. Most companies care more about your portfolio and your results than your diploma. Keep your degree listed in English with the original school name, and make your case-study portfolio easy to open.

Should I include my portfolio if my projects were under NDA?

Yes, but describe them without confidential details. Show your process, the decisions you made, and the outcomes using ranges or percentages, and offer a private walkthrough on request.

Is it better to apply as a contractor or through an EOR?

Both work. Contracting is simpler if you already have a business registered in your country, while an EOR like Deel handles payroll and compliance for the employer. Check the offer and choose what you can manage legally in your country.
