What the work is
Names vary: AI trainer, data annotator, response evaluator, "domain expert". In practice you get tasks such as writing a hard question in your field with the right answer, comparing two AI answers and saying which is better and why, or flagging mistakes in text, code, images or audio.
There are roles for fluent speakers of a language, for people from a field (law, medicine, finance, programming, design) and for general review. The more specialised the role, the higher the hourly rate tends to be.
How pay usually works
Most pay per hour or per task, as a contractor, in dollars, through PayPal, Payoneer or bank transfer. Many posts show the hourly rate; when they do, we show it in the list.
The amount of work varies: a project can have lots of tasks one week and none the next, so many people treat it as extra income, not a fixed salary.
What to watch
No legitimate company charges you to apply, take a test or do "training". If they ask for money, it is a scam.
Be wary of recruiters who only talk over WhatsApp or Telegram and have no job posted on the company site. The jobs on this page come from public job pages and boards, with the original link.
Being paid from abroad as a contractor has tax rules in your country; check with an accountant.
Almost all of them need English to read the instructions.
